Summary

The Magic Circus Show is an entertainment show recorded in the Christmas big top in Geneva at the end of November each year, then broadcast throughout Europe and beyond over the Christmas season. In 2011, the host broadcaster was Radio Télévision Suisse (RTS).

The success of the show has incited the EBU and the broadcasters involved to reconduct the show and to make of it a recurrent yearly event.

Children from different parts of Europe between the ages of 9 and 14 perform different circus acts, bringing the rich and diverse traditions of Europe under one big tent. Jugglers, acrobats, trapeze artists, clowns and air gymnasts show off their talent. All the acts are chosen in a thorough selection process in their respective countries. Each participating TV channel holds a casting session for children who perform circus acts, resulting in a selection of 2-4 acts per country.
