Summary

16 year old Eva-Nina Kozmus was awarded the coveted title of the "Eurovision Young Musician 2010" for her interpretation of the concerto for flute, 3rd mvt., Allegro scherzando by Jacques Ibert.

For the 2010 competition the EBU and host broadcaster ORF (Austrian public broadcaster) were happy to collaborate for a third time with the Wiener Festwochen, as part of the world-renowned festival's Friday night opening ceremony.

EBU members from all over Europe were invited to apply with solo candidates, aged under 20 in the year of the competition, to first compete in a preliminary Semi-Final round, out of which the 7 best have been selected by an international jury to perform live as finalists in the show at the Rathausplatz (Vienna City Hall Square), in front of a live audience of tens of thousands.

The seven Finalists were accompanied by the Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra, under the baton of young German conductor Cornelius Meister.
